Refugee Solution represented at World Refugee Day Houston 2014.

Steve and I arrived early and got a good spot. We handed out 300 pieces of candy and stamped passports. We donated an iPad to one lucky attendee that received all stickers on the passport and turned it in.

Ali gets the event kicked off by explaining to everyone how the Houston Refugee Consortium (representative from each agency are standing behind him) help refugees like himself achieve life goals. Ali announced the he passed testing and will obtain U.S. citizenship in the month of June.

The crowd was steady all day. We happened to be located next to a dentist so our candy was a big hit with the kids and parents received a toothbrush from the dentist.

There were tents with a variety of cultural food available to try. The Congo tent were especially festive.

There was a continuous stream of demonstrations on the main stage.
